Botswana Safari
Botswana Land and Water Safari Packages

On a Botswana safari package, bigger really is better. The elephants are super-sized, the landscapes vast, and the magnitude of the experiences beyond measure. Home to the Okavango Delta and Chobe National Park, Botswana truly is one of the greatest safari package destinations in Africa.
The Okavango Delta defines the country’s landscape, cutting through the stark red hues of the Kalahari Desert in a flood of emerald green. During the seasonal rains, the Delta becomes a lush animal habitat. Here, you can explore meandering channels and papyrus-fringed islands by mokoro (a traditional dugout canoe). However, adventures such as horseback rides, speedboat trips, and guided island walks are available too, and no less exciting! Expect to see an abundance of birdlife, hippos, and crocodiles. And don’t miss the sunsets. Bookend your days with sunset cocktails and marvel at the colours of the Delta as it turns molten gold.
On dry land, Chobe National Park is famous for its herds of elephant and buffalo. During the winter months, the animals converge on the Chobe River. As a result, wildlife sightings are particularly rewarding at this time. Furthermore, on a Botswana safari, you can enjoy almost guaranteed encounters with Africa’s star players: the Big Five. When exploring the Delta, don’t forget to experience one of the most beautiful reserves in Africa; Moremi Game Reserve.
With its wealth of world-class accommodation, Botswana is renowned as one of Africa’s top luxury travel destinations. Sumptuous safari lodges and intimate tented camps give you a front-row seat to the fabulous wildlife spectacles – perfect for an intimate African honeymoon. With unlimited elbow room and the wildlife pretty much all to yourself, you can expect an utterly exclusive safari experience, unmatched anywhere else in Africa.
Best Time to Visit Botswana:
In Botswana as in most African safari destinations, animals will converge at water sources during the dry season to slake their thirst. As a result, Botswana game viewing at the Okavango Delta and in the reserves of Chobe and Moremi is at its peak between May and October. While Savute allows for year-round game viewing, visit the Zebra migration that occurs between November to December or April to May. Those wanting to explore the Kalahari Desert should note that the optimal game viewing has a short timeframe from May to June as the remaining waterholes become a haven during the dry season. If you don’t mind some rainfall during your safari , the wet season’s December to January allows for a sanctuary to the animals and extraordinary sightings for wildlife enthusiasts.

View the patchwork plains of the Okavango Delta from the sky and discover why this watery landscape in the middle of the desert is a marvel of nature.
A helicopter flip over the Okavango Delta is a breathtaking, once-in-a-lifetime experience that offers a unique perspective of one of the world’s most extraordinary ecosystems. As the rotors lift you into the sky, the vast, watery wilderness unfolds beneath you like a living, breathing canvas. Meandering channels glisten in the sunlight, weaving through emerald-green floodplains dotted with papyrus and water lilies. Herds of elephants splash in shallow pools, while hippos wallow contentedly in deeper lagoons. From above, you might spot giraffes casting long shadows across the savannah, and red lechwe bounding effortlessly through flooded grasslands.
Birdlife is abundant and spectacular — fish eagles soar near eye level, and flocks of herons and storks rise in clouds from hidden nesting sites. The intricate patterns of termite mounds, palm islands, and winding watercourses paint a mosaic that is both wild and harmonious. The doors-off flight option offers an unobstructed view, allowing for incredible photography and an unmatched sense of freedom.
As the helicopter banks and circles, you’ll feel the immensity and magic of the delta — a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Africa’s last great untouched wildernesses. It’s a humbling, awe-inspiring journey that leaves you deeply connected to nature.
A mokoro cruise in the Okavango Delta is a serene and immersive journey into one of Africa’s most pristine and enchanting wildernesses. A mokoro is a traditional dugout canoe, expertly guided by a local poler who uses a long wooden pole to glide silently through the shallow, crystal-clear waters. As you drift between papyrus reeds and lily-dotted lagoons, the only sounds are the soft splash of water and the calls of distant birds.
From this low, water-level vantage point, you can spot a wealth of wildlife—delicate reed frogs clinging to stems, colorful kingfishers darting overhead, and elephants feeding in the shallows. Occasionally, hippos or lechwe antelopes may appear, adding to the thrill. With no engine noise, the experience is peaceful, meditative, and deeply connected to nature.
A mokoro cruise is not just about wildlife; it’s about slowing down, absorbing the delta’s rhythms, and experiencing its untouched beauty in the most intimate way possible.
Chobe National Park, located in northern Botswana, is renowned for having the highest concentration of elephants in Africa, with over 120,000 of these majestic giants roaming its landscapes. It’s not uncommon to witness massive herds, sometimes numbering over a hundred, especially along the Chobe River during the dry season. The park’s diverse ecosystems — from lush floodplains and dense woodlands to expansive savannahs — also support a rich variety of wildlife, including lions, buffalo, leopards, and over 450 bird species. Chobe offers unforgettable game viewing by both vehicle and boat, making it one of Southern Africa’s top safari destinations.
Experience the enchantment of Africa as you cruise along the iconic Chobe River aboard a luxury houseboat. This unique safari offers an intimate and immersive way to explore the region’s stunning landscapes and abundant wildlife. From the comfort of your floating retreat, watch herds of elephants gather at the water’s edge, hippos wallow nearby, and crocodiles bask on sunlit banks. Bird enthusiasts will delight in the variety of species flitting through the reeds. With panoramic views, gourmet cuisine, and tranquil surroundings, a Chobe River houseboat safari blends comfort and adventure, offering an unforgettable journey into the heart of the wild.
Savour the tranquility of gliding through the reed-lined channels of the Okavango Delta in a traditional mokoro, a dugout canoe steered quietly by a skilled poler.
As you drift across still waters, surrounded by lilies and waving papyrus, you’ll encounter a world rich in life, from tiny frogs clinging to reeds to elephants wading gracefully nearby. For those seeking more adrenaline, action-packed game drives across the delta’s grassy plains offer the chance to spot lions, leopards, and herds of buffalo up close. Each journey, whether by water or land, unveils new wonders of this remarkable ecosystem. The Okavango is a place where silence speaks, and every track, ripple, or distant call hints at the wild beauty that surrounds you. Whether you’re floating peacefully or bouncing along rugged trails, game viewing here is an unforgettable, deeply rewarding experience that captures the essence of untamed Africa.
